In the spring of 1968, John Musgrave was a young Marine deployed to Vietnam. He was assigned to a rifle company in the 1st Marine Division, and he quickly saw his first combat action. He fought in some of the bloodiest battles of the war, including the Battle of Khe Sanh and the Tet Offensive. He witnessed unspeakable horrors and lost many of his friends.

About the Author
John Musgrave was born in New Jersey in 1946. He served in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968, and he fought in the Vietnam War. After his return home, he struggled with PTSD for many years. He eventually found healing through therapy and the support of his family and friends. He wrote Ghosts and Shadows to share his story with others and to help them understand the true cost of war.
Musgrave lives in California with his wife and children. He is a retired teacher and a volunteer with the Veterans Administration.
