We started our journey at the Rincón de la Vieja National Park, home to some of the most beautiful and diverse rainforest in Costa Rica. As we hiked along the Las Pailas Trail, we were surrounded by towering trees, strangler figs, and vibrant orchids. The air was thick with the sound of birdsong, and we were lucky enough to spot a family of howler monkeys swinging through the branches.
After a few hours of hiking, we reached our destination: the Las Pailas waterfall. The falls were stunning, cascading down a sheer rock face into a pool of crystal-clear water. We couldn't resist taking a dip in the refreshing water, and we spent the rest of the afternoon swimming, splashing, and playing in the falls.
The next day, we visited the Santa Rosa National Park, another of Guanacaste's natural wonders. Santa Rosa is home to a variety of habitats, including dry forest, rainforest, and mangrove swamps. We hiked through the forest, spotting iguanas, monkeys, and sloths. We also visited the park's museum, which tells the story of the Costa Rican Revolution of 1948.
Our time in Guanacaste was an unforgettable experience. We learned about the importance of conservation, discovered the beauty of the rainforest, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
