A Tragic Story of a Woman Caught Up in the Hysteria of the Cold War

Ethel Rosenberg was an American woman who was convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage with her husband, Julius Rosenberg, during the Cold War. The couple was executed in 1953, and their case remains one of the most controversial in American history.

Ethel Rosenberg was born in New York City in 1915. She was the daughter of Jewish immigrants from Russia. Her father was a tailor, and her mother was a homemaker. Ethel had two older brothers and a younger sister.

Ethel's family was poor, but they were close-knit. Ethel was a bright and ambitious child. She attended public school and graduated from high school at the top of her class. She went on to attend college, where she studied political science.

In 1939, Ethel met Julius Rosenberg. Julius was a fellow student at college. They were both active in the Communist Party, and they shared a passion for social justice. They fell in love and married in 1940.

After college, Ethel and Julius moved to New York City. Julius worked as an electrical engineer, and Ethel worked as a secretary. They had two sons, Michael and Robert.

In 1945, the United States entered World War II. Julius was drafted into the army, and Ethel stayed home to take care of their children. After the war, Julius returned to his job as an electrical engineer, and Ethel continued to work as a secretary.

In 1949, Julius was approached by a Soviet agent. The agent asked Julius to spy on the United States for the Soviet Union. Julius agreed, and he recruited Ethel to help him.

Ethel and Julius spied on the United States for several years. They passed on information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. In 1950, they were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit espionage.

The trial of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg was a sensation. The government accused them of treason, and the public was outraged. The Rosenbergs were found guilty and sentenced to death.

Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were executed at Sing Sing Prison in 1953. They were the first American civilians to be executed for espionage.

The case of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg remains one of the most controversial in American history. Some people believe that they were guilty of treason and that they deserved to die. Others believe that they were innocent and that they were victims of a political witch hunt.

This book tells the story of Ethel Rosenberg's life, from her childhood in New York City to her execution at Sing Sing Prison. It is a tragic story of a woman who was caught up in the hysteria of the Cold War and paid the ultimate price.
